Construction boom in Africa will attract investors
There is a large construction boom throughout the African continent. The shortage of housing is large and housing is expected to be a major investment market.
About 40 million houses are needed on the African continent in the next 5 years, according to data from the sustainable development programme. And the needs will increase.
The reasons are several. In Africa, there is the world’s fastest growing population and, in line with good economic growth, the middle class is also increasing and wanting more, as well as better housing.

In Africa, a construction boom is currently under way across large parts of the continent. The major shortage of housing and a growing middle class means that the demand for newly built houses is very large. The construction industry is expected to be the next major investment magnet.
Africa has the fastest growing population in the world and with the good economic growth in many of the countries in recent years, the middle class is growing and demanding more and better housing.
Although there has been large Chinese capital in the African construction industry in recent years, most of the builders are still building local builders.
